UN Bonn to participate in City of Bonn’s “Democracy Festival” on May 25, 2024
In May, the German Federal Government alongside the City of Bonn and other partners will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of the proclamation of the Basic Law and thus the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany.
In Bonn, where the Basic Law was drafted and proclaimed on 23 May 1949, the Federal City of Bonn will be hosting a public celebration recognizing this important anniversary.
A major festivity for citizens and families will be at the heart of the activities, with the participation of various institutions, associations, non-governmental organizations and UN Bonn organizations.
On Saturday, 25 May 2024 from 11 a.m. onwards, a varied program will be offered in the former federal district of Bonn. Different UN Bonn organizations will be present in the park of Villa Hammerschmidt at the invitation of the Federal City of Bonn.
There will be panel discussions, music and hands-on activities in the park of Villa Hammerschmidt. Guests can find out about the work of various organizations. At around 7:00 p.m. there will be a closing concert on the main stage for all guests within the park of Villa Hammerschmidt.
