UNCCD has released the first episode of the new podcast series on good land stewardship for present and future generations. This podcast is designed to share stories, news and conversations about land, desertification, climate change, sustainable development goals and environmental issues. Each month, UNCCD will share the best stories from the land featuring scientists, policymakers, stakeholders and sustainable land management practitioners.

Land Heritage Collection Launched at UNCCD Headquarters

To celebrate 25 years of remarkable positive impact on land, people, communities and society, the UNCCD secretariat launched a collection of land-related commemorative items at UNCCD headquarters in Bonn, Germany. The exhibit embodies the convention's firm commitment to protecting healthy and productive land worldwide. The new Land Heritage Collection welcomes contributions that symbolize countries' land heritage. Submissions will be promoted through UNCCD communication platforms, with every visual element of the exhibit linked to its story.

Governments Agree to Build Resilience to Climate Change-Induced Droughts

Achieving land degradation neutrality was the focus of the 14th meeting of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) which wrapped up on September 13 in New Delhi, India.

Governments meeting in New Delhi agreed to make the Sustainable Development Goal target of achieving land degradation neutrality by 2030 a national target for action.

Another important decision adopted by COP14 was to buttress global efforts to better mitigate and manage the risks of drought and to build resilience to the inevitable impacts of climate change.
