Young Content Creators Worldwide Invited to Share Their Sustainable Development Goals 360º Stories

Young people from across the world are invited to be part of the third MY World 360ª program by creating immersive media as a way to share their perspectives and inspire positive action toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The third edition of MY World 360º is looking for immersive stories under the themes of Climate Action and Reducing Inequalities. Young people from around the world are eligible to submit immersive media, including 360º video and photography, on how these issues are relevant to their lives, and how they and their communities are taking action to make them happen. The deadline for submission is 15 August 2019. The best stories will be screened at the UN General Assembly in September 2019.

"For the Sustainable Development Goals to be achieved, we all need to take action", said Marina Ponti, a.i. Director of the United Nations SDG Action Campaign. "We want to encourage young people to use their creativity and new technologies to show how the Goals affect their realities and how they are taking action. We will give the spotlight to their messages, so they can inspire others to get engaged and take action."

"We’re excited about our partnership with Oculus and the UN SDG Action Campaign that provides students with tools and resources to use storytelling to inspire positive action," said Karen Cator, President and CEO of Digital Promise. "By using emerging technology, students are developing their digital skills as they share their perspectives on issues that matter most to them."

"Giving people the resources they need to highlight the issues they care about has been a major goal of our partnership with Digital Promise Global, and we’re thrilled to be working with the UN SDG Action Campaign again this year," said Christina Weaver Jackson from Oculus AR/VR Policy. "We are proud to have a hand in developing the next generation of innovators and filmmakers, all while encouraging more young people to think about how technology can help them raise awareness for causes they believe in."
