The Small Wonders of Bonn – the 25th Anniversary of Germany’s UN City

When the German Bundestag decided on June 20, 1991, to move the parliament and government back to Berlin, it was a black day for the city on the Rhine. The fear of losing jobs, shrinking tax revenues, and the plunge into insignificance was prevalent.

Today, three decades later, we know that none of this took place. On the contrary, the city of Bonn has grown, it offers more jobs than ever, the office vacancy rate is minimal, and the construction and rental markets are booming.

SDGs and Music: Agents of Change in Action

The fifth edition of the SDG Global Festival of Action virtually gathered 20,000 people from across Europe to discuss SDGs trends as a way to create a response to a better recovery from the pandemic and share newly established practices. 

One of the many sessions that took place at the festival was the collaborative workshop entitled: Play Fair! Actioning Sustainability in the Music Industry. Where a panel of international music experts looked at and discussed a new angle of music and the music industry being one of the key partners in the implementation of the SDGs.

‘A Turning Point for People and Planet’ – SDG Global Festival of Action, 25 - 26 March 2021 

Under the theme ‘A Turning Point for People and Planet’, the fifth SDG Global Festival of Action, powered by the UN SDG Action Campaign will take place on 25 and 26 March. 

The Festival seeks to find new ways to inspire, mobilize and connect the global community to take action on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It will be held in a virtual space with six different stages, featuring plenary sessions, interactive workshops, exhibits and performances and a space to connect with leaders, changemakers, activists, the private sector and more.
