50% of the world’s population is under 30, compared to just 2.6% of parliamentarians globally. If this ratio were reflected in a year, the views of those under 30 would stop being represented in parliaments around the world after the 9th of January.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has set “building a global coalition for carbon neutrality — net zero emissions — by 2050” as the central ambition of the United Nations in 2021. In his New Year’s video message for 2021, the Secretary-General said that “every government, city, business and individual can play a part” in achieving the goal of carbon neutrality.
United Nations Day: Exhibition Instead of Fair

In recent years, UN Bonn, the German Foreign Office, the City of Bonn and many Bonn NGOs have celebrated the annual United Nations Day on Bonn's market square or on the banks of the Rhine. This will not be possible this year due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
