UN Day Exhibition

United Nations Day: Exhibition Instead of Fair

On Saturday, October 24, the United Nations will celebrate its 75th anniversary. In recent years, UN Bonn, the German Foreign Office, the City of Bonn and many Bonn NGOs have celebrated the annual United Nations Day on Bonn's market square or on the banks of the Rhine. This will not be possible this year  due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Instead, an exhibition will be shown on the banks of the Rhine in Bonn from Saturday, October 24 to Thursday, November 12, 2020. It will present knowledge about development policy issues surrounding the United Nations and encourage people to take action and get involved. Below the Alter Zoll, 26 exhibition boards provide information about the United Nations worldwide, its 75th anniversary, as well as about the UN organizations in Bonn and their work.

The exhibition is organized by the City of Bonn in cooperation with UN Bonn, the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the German United Nations Association and the Federal Foreign Office and is financially supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The boards of the several UN Bonn organisations give citizens the opportunity to inform themselves about the content and work of the United Nations despite the current COVID-19 pandemic. Corresponding links to the online presentations of the UN organizations also provide the opportunity to take a closer look at issues of sustainable and socially just development and the global challenges facing the United Nations.
