Researchers and students from Freie Universität Berlin went into dialogue with Ahunna Eziakonwa, Assistant Administrator and UNDP Regional Director for Africa, and Melanie Hauenstein, Director of the UNDP Representation Office in Germany, following a lecture by the UN Development Programme representatives on the topic "Africa: Continent of the Future".

UNDP releases Global Multidimensional Poverty Index 2022

Earlier this week, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Oxford Poverty & Human Development Initiative (OPHI) of the university of Oxford published the Global Multidimensional Poverty Index 2022 (MPI). The data on which this year’s index is based was collected in 111 countries. Since its first publication in the year 2010, the index`s most important aim has been to showcase the state of global poverty as accurately as possible.

New building on the UN Campus officially handed over to the United Nations in Bonn

On February 10, 2022 the new building on the UN Campus was officially handed over to the United Nations in Bonn. The head of the Liaison Office of the German Foreign Office to the United Nations Organisations in Bonn Dr. Rainer Lassig symbolically handed over the building to the head of the United Nations Volunteer Programme (UNV) Toily Kurbanov. Dr. Lassig remarked that he looks forward to the continued cooperation between Germany and the UN Bonn Campus.
