IPBES-9 Plenary Will Take Place in Bonn From 3-9 July
The ninth session of the Plenary of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES 9) is planned to be held in Bonn, Germany, from 3 to 9 July 2022.
As communicated in the annotated provisional agenda, provision has been made for duly registered members of delegations to view the proceedings online.
While it had been announced previously that online participation would be restricted to “viewer mode” and not allow active participation in the meeting, provision is now being made for duly registered members of delegations to actively participate online in the plenary meetings and meetings of the two working groups which are expected to be established. These provisions have been made to respond to the multiple requests received from Governments and to support a balanced participation in light of the still ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Please note that any interventions made online need to be in English, and no interpretation into the other UN languages will be available.
Delegates that would like to participate online need to complete the same registration procedure as delegates participating in-person.
IPBES 9 will be preceded by regional consultations and a Stakeholder Day on 2 July 2022.
